Livvi

The problem

Finding suitable housing is hard for students who move away from home to study. High demand keeps prices up in university cities, listings are scattered across platforms that were not built for students, and the lack of verified information makes it easy to run into scams or misleading ads. On top of that, the stress of the search often bleeds into the rest of the move.

Research

We started with desk research into the existing platforms (Idealista, Fotocasa, Habitaclia) and what they were missing for a student audience, then ran semi-structured interviews to hear how people had actually experienced the search, and closed with a questionnaire to check those insights against a wider group.

Price and location decided things first, but security, trust and getting a fast, honest reply from the owner mattered just as much. Parents often ended up acting as an informal filter and safety net throughout the process.

Two people, one decision

Every listing has two sides. The student needs verified listings, honest reviews and a quick, direct way to reach the owner. The owner needs reliable tenants, a simple way to manage requests, and some protection against no-shows or unpaid rent. Livvi was designed around both.

Livvi

The name plays on “living”. Where traditional platforms speak to a general public with little personalization, Livvi is built only for students: listings and profiles are verified, the search stays centered on price, location and compatible flatmates, and contact happens through one integrated chat instead of scattered calls and messages.

Beyond the listing

Once a match happens, Livvi opens a shared space for the new flatmates: a synced shopping list, common chores and a place to plan activities together, so the app keeps being useful after move-in instead of stopping at the signed contract.
